The Bay Area Business Alliance ("BABA," "we," "us," or "our") is a private, application-only referral network for business owners in the Coastal Bend region of Texas. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through txbizalliance.com and our member application process, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you apply for membership. Our application asks for your name and contact details; your business name, industry or trade, and service area; how long you have been in business; whether your business is licensed and insured; your website and social profiles; whether you can attend weekly meetings in the Corpus Christi / Portland, Texas area; the name of anyone who referred you; and anything else you choose to tell us.
When you refer a guest. Members may submit a guest's name and contact details so we can invite them. If someone submitted your information as a guest referral, we received it from that member.
When you contact us. If you email, call, or text us, we receive your contact details and the content of your communication.
Automatically. Our website analytics count page and section views to help us understand which parts of the site people use. Analytics operates without cookies and does not collect personal data. Our site is served through Cloudflare, and our member portal, Alliance Connect, is hosted on Supabase; those providers process basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the sites.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Review membership applications and make membership decisions;
- Communicate with applicants, members, and referred guests about meetings, events, and membership;
- Operate the Alliance, including the member directory and referral activity among members;
- Process membership payments; and
- Meet legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers who help us operate — such as payment processing, website and portal hosting, and email delivery — only as needed for them to perform their services;
- Within the Alliance as membership requires — for example, a member directory and referral introductions between members; and
- When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Retention
We keep application and membership records for as long as needed to operate the Alliance and meet legal obligations. If your application is not accepted, you may ask us to delete it sooner.
Your choices
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us at info@txbizalliance.com. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe option.
Children's privacy
Our network and website are for business owners and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision.
